J.M. Blackman’s Picture Choice: No Damsel
Title: Both
His love was no damsel.
She was an ancient goddess, barefoot in all her wrath. Each step she took grew a flurry of plants, vines twisting around her ankles gently like ornaments before slithering free to spring across the ground to do her bidding.
Rain poured from the sky on one side of her while sunlight sizzled the moisture in the air on the other side. She walked in mist, because of it. And her fog rolled across the countryside, seeking her answers, delivering her truth.
She would stand for no injustice, no hatred or fear. She was the handler of love and might and would smite all who prevented her.
His love was no damsel, but she was rapture incarnate.

Now that's what you call a short, sharp shock. Very, very effective. The language is nothing short of beautiful.
