Title: The Dark Locket
Georgette wandered through the meadow, kicking through the fresh growth while her siblings ran in circles behind her. She kept her gaze forward and on their oldest sister. Margaret was once again talking to the dark stranger.
Georgette didn’t trust the dark one who only seemed to appear in the deepest part of the field, far away from the apple blossoms that used to captive them. She twisted her hands around the branch blocking her way. They knew nothing of this man’s family. She couldn’t understand what Margaret found interesting about him.
He reached into his cloak and placed a locket in Margaret’s hand. He kissed her cheek and disappeared. Georgette blinked several times, not believing what her gaze had witnessed. At least the stranger was gone, but Margaret still cradled the gift in her hands.

Very mysterious and dark. Liking the ending too. x
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lizzie. This story has been in my head for sometime, but it was from the sister's POV. It was fun to explore a bit from Georgette's perspective. :)
